To prevent the eyelets from tearing, reinforce the eyelet areas on the front piece (casing end / see marking) from the inside with a small piece of fusible interfacing.
Place the back pieces right sides together. Pin at the center back and close the center back seam up to the start of the slit. For a short-length dress: The center back seam is closed completely.
At the slit end of the left back piece, place the diagonally cut edges right sides together and close. For a short-length dress: This step is omitted.
Turn the slit corner right side out and press. For a short-length dress: This step is omitted.
Press the slit facing on the right back piece 4 cm inward. For a short-length dress: This step is omitted. Finish the center back seam together. Press the seam allowances to the side.
Topstitch the slit facings flat from the right side. For a short-length dress: This step is omitted.
Pin the pocket bags right sides together to the pocket openings (see markings) on the front and back pieces. Stitch all pocket bags to the front and back pieces with approximately 0.7 cm seam allowance.
Turn the pocket bag outward and press.
Pin the front and back pieces right sides together. Close the shoulder seams and finish the seam allowances together with a zigzag stitch. Press the seam allowances toward the back.
Pin the sleeve right sides together to the dress. Pay attention to the matching marks. They must align exactly. Stitch the sleeve in place, finish the seam allowances together, and press toward the sleeve.
Place the front and back pieces right sides together. Close the underarm seam and side seam of the dress in one step. For the side seam, stitch first up to the upper pocket opening mark and continue from the lower mark. Press the seam allowances open.
Press the pocket bag onto the front piece, pin together, and sew. Finish the seam allowances together with a zigzag stitch.
Finish the sleeve hem with a zigzag stitch. Fold 3 cm inward, press, and topstitch from the right side.
Finish the hem of the dress with a zigzag stitch. Fold 3 cm inward, press, and topstitch from the right side.
Turn the dress inside out. Pin the casing tape left sides together to the dress. Pay attention to the marking. Stitch the casing tape to the dress from the left side. Pin the front and back neckline facings right sides together. Close the shoulder seams, finish the seam allowances together with a zigzag stitch, and press forward.
Finish the lower edge of the neckline facing with a zigzag stitch. Pin the neckline facing right sides together to the neckline of the dress and stitch in place.
Carefully clip the seam allowances in the curves with a pointed pair of scissors so the facing lays better "into the dress."
Turn the neckline facing inward, press, and topstitch from the right side. Pull the cord through the casing with a safety pin.
